In 2025, Dance Reflections by Van Cleef & Arpels is supporting the Festival d'Avignon for the presentation of They always come back by Bouchra Ouizguen.
Bouchra Ouizguen is a Moroccan dancer-choreographer. She lives and works in Marrakech, where she has been involved in the development of a local choreographic scene since 1998. A self-taught dancer from the age of 16, she created her first experimental pieces, such as Ana Ounta and Mort et moi, drawing on her interests in cinema, literature and music. She co-founded the association Anania in 2002 before founding Compagnie O in 2010. That same year, she was awarded the Prix de la Révélation Chorégraphique de la Société des Auteurs et Compositeurs Dramatiques (Choregraphic Revelation Prize from the SACD) and the Prix du Syndicat de la Critique de Théâtre, de Musique et de Danse (French Professional Critics' Union Prize) for her work, Madame Plaza. Between 2011 and 2022, she created numerous pieces, including the solo Voyage Cola with choreographer Alain Buffard at the Festival d’Avignon in 2011; Ha! at the Montpellier Danse Festival in 2012; Corbeaux, a sculptural piece featuring 17 dancers at the Marrakech Biennale in 2014; Ottof - les fourmis, en berbère, presented at the Montpellier Danse Festival in 2015; Jerada for the Norwegian National Company of Contemporary Dance in 2017; and, Eléphant ou le temps suspendu, presented at the Rabat International Biennale of Contemporary Art in 2019. Her latest creation, Eléphant, was presented at the 2022 Kunstenfestivaldesarts.
