In 2026, Dance Reflections by Van Cleef & Arpels is supporting Pavillon ADC for the presentation of Pléïades, in absentia by Cindy Van Acker.
Classically trained in Antwerp, Cindy Van Acker has been creating her own works since 1994 and founded Cie Greffe in Geneva in 2002. Her meticulous choreographic language, which combines slowness, mentalization, constraint, geometry, minimalism and spatialization of sound, unfolds within a highly singular artistic territory. Over the past twenty years, alternating between powerful solos and striking ensemble pieces, and exploring movement at the heart of opera, Cindy Van Acker has developed a style of dance that is essentially abstract yet always directly connected to the concepts of struggle and resistance: strijd in Flemish. Her career has been shaped in particular by her collaborations with choreographer Myriam Gourfink, electronic musician Mika Vainio, visual artist Victor Roy and theater director Romeo Castellucci. From November 2017 to June 2025, Cindy Van Acker served as Associate Artist at the ADC (Association pour la Danse Contemporaine) in Geneva, under the direction of Anne Davier. Her work has earned her numerous distinctions, including two Swiss Dance Awards and the Médaille d'Officière de l'Ordre des Arts et des Lettres. In 2023, she received the Swiss Grand Award for the Performing Arts / Hans Reinhart Ring, as well as the Leenaards Cultural Prize.
