In 2026, Dance Reflections by Van Cleef & Arpels is supporting Cristian Duarte for his upcoming creation.

Cristian Duarte is a dancer, choreographer, director and producer dedicated to choreographic research for over 30 years. His practice creates contexts for experimentation and training in São Paulo through collaborative projects in dialogue with different fields of knowledge. Since 2013, he has developed his work through the platform Cristian Duarte /em companhia at Casa do Povo, emphasizing “being in company” as a collective and flexible state grounded in long-term artistic research.

He has received major recognitions in Brazil and has presented his work widely in Brazil and internationally across Europe, Latin America and Asia. He has choreographed for Balé da Cidade de São Paulo and Cullberg Ballet (Stockholm), and builds partnerships with cultural institutions across creation, pedagogy and curation. He also works as a movement director for theatre, film and opera, including the feature film Latin Blood: The Ballad of Ney Matogrosso (Portuguese: Homem com H (2024), directed by Esmir Filho (Paris Filmes).

His main projects include APT?, DESABA, LOTE and Z0NA. He graduated from P.A.R.T.S. (Brussels) and began his training at Estúdio Nova Dança. In QUEIMA (Ashing), he shares with Aline Bonamin, his collaborator of 13 years, strategies from the solo The Hot One Hundred Choreographers (2011), originally performed by the choreographer himself.
