In 2026, Dance Reflections by Van Cleef & Arpels is supporting Chaillot - Théâtre national de la Danse for the presentation of Sibylline by Léo Lérus.

Léo Lérus began his artistic journey with the traditional Guadeloupean dance of gwo-ka. At the age of 14, he was admitted to the CNSMDP, where he was trained in contemporary dance. After graduating in 1999, he launched his professional career as a performer with companies such as Random Dance Company (Wayne McGregor), Batsheva Dance Company (Ohad Naharin) and L-E-V Dance Company (Sharon Eyal/Gai Behar). Since 2010, he has been creating his own work, engaging in an ongoing exploration of contemporary dance while deepening and honoring his cultural heritage.

About the Company

Closely intertwined with his artistic and personal project, dancer and choreographer Léo Lérus founded Compagnie Zimarèl in 2011 in Sainte-Anne, Guadeloupe, the archipelago where he was born.

Zimarèl is a return to his native land and culture, where echoes of gwo-ka and léwoz consciously surface within a distinctive contemporary choreographic language. This foundational vocabulary is enriched by the many dance forms encountered throughout his exceptional career, giving rise to a contemporary Guadeloupean signature that is both sensitive and inclusive, shaped by constant experimentation and exploration.
