In 2026, Dance Reflection by Van Cleef & Arpels continues to pursue its commitment to transmission and education and is organizing, in collaboration with the Hong Kong Academy for Performing Arts, a workshop around the work of Thomas Hauert, led by Samantha van Wissen and Mat Voorter.
Mat Voorter (b. 1965) is a Dutch-Belgian artist, whose work bridges dance, theatre and visual arts. He studied at the Rotterdam Dance Academy and has worked internationally with various choreographers. Since 1998, he has been a long-standing performer with ZOO/Thomas Hauert, contributing to nearly all of the company’s major works over decades. Partnering with David Zambrano since 1993, he has deepened his exploration of performing improvisation, also designing costumes and leading workshops worldwide. Known for his poetic and raw approach to movement, Voorter investigates the tensions between control and surrender, body and environment, self and other, creating performances and workshops that invite audiences and participants into intimate, sensory landscapes. In 2018, he co-founded the Tictac Art Centre in Brussels, a hub for dance improvisation, experimentation, and artistic exchange.
