In 2024, Dance Reflections by Van Cleef & Arpels is supporting choreographer Robert Binet in the creation of
Dark with Excessive Bright and its presentation at the Royal Opera House.

Robert Binet is a choreographer and is Choreographic Associate as well as Director of Artist Development Programmes with The National Ballet of Canada. He has created 16 works for the National Ballet including The Dreamers Ever Leave You, an immersive ballet first performed at the Art Gallery of Ontario and later toured within Canada, the United States, the United Kingdom and Germany, and the original choreography for Karen Kain’s Swan Lake. He has also created works for The Royal Ballet where he was Choreographic Apprentice from 2012-2013, New York City Ballet, Company Wayne McGregor, The Dutch National Ballet (junior company), Ballett am Rhein and more.

Robert created the National Ballet’s CreativAction and Sharing the Stage programmes which offer a wide-range of opportunities to Canadian choreographers and was the Choreographic Mentor at the 2023 Venice Biennale Danza. Robert is the 2023 recipient of the Sandra Faire Next Generation Award from Dance Collection Danse, Canada’s National Dance Archive, in recognition of his significant impact on dance in Canada, specifically for innovation, sustainability, increased visibility for the art form and national reach.
