Genius Loci

Genius Loci is an association founded in 2021 by curator Marion Vignal. Its mission is to promote architectural heritage and contemporary creation while fostering new productions and dialogue between artistic disciplines. Through its program of experiential exhibitions, the association aims to gather all audiences around architecture as a cultural foundation. For its new edition, Genius Loci occupies the space of Maison Bernard, a masterpiece of organic architecture from the 1970s designed by Antti Lovag in Théoule-sur-Mer.

The exhibition, organized in partnership with the Maison Bernard endowment fund under the curatorship of Marion Vignal, will highlight the genius of this extraordinary construction, in symbiosis with nature and the human body, its dreamlike power and creative freedom. It will bring together the works of more than 27 modern and contemporary artists, as well as several special commissions created for this project. Invited to envision an in-situ performance at Maison Bernard, choreographer Némo Flouret will present DANCE PARC: a playground project, a creation born from an unprecedented encounter between architecture and contemporary dance.
