Grand Théâtre de Genève

Built in 1879, the Grand Théâtre is Switzerland's largest artistic stage and home to Geneva's opera and ballet companies. Each season, it offers opera and dance productions, as well as a wide range of cultural and festive events, especially for young audiences. The artistic choices are intended to be innovative and ambitious, with a particular focus on strengthening joint projects with regional institutions and developing international collaborations.

In 1962, the Grand Théâtre de Genève became home to a permanent ballet company of 22 artists, directed since August 2022 by choreographer Sidi Larbi Cherkaoui. Through the qualitý of its performances, the originalitý of its programming and the excellent artistic and technical level of the dancers who make up this unique ensemble, Ballet de Genève has acquired an international reputation that has earned numerous invitations around the world.
