Dance Jurors' Dance

In 2025, Dance Reflections by Van Cleef & Arpels is supporting Toshiki Okada for its creation Dance Jurors' Dance and the Tokyo Metropolitan Theatre for its presentation.
Written and directed by Toshiki Okada, a leading artist in contemporary theater. This ambitious performance elegantly crosses the boundary between dance and theater and captures the thinking space created by the intersection of the human body and language.
Performers are Hana Sakai and Yasutake Shimaji, both Aichi Prefectural Art Theater's dance artists, as well as talented dancers such as Megumi Nakamura and Anna Irite, along with an actor Makoto Yazawa and an up-and-coming musician Utena Kobayashi. Inspired by the action of judging, the performance expands the concept of body and its evaluation and ownership, and provokes audiences to change their viewpoints unexpectedly.
