In 2021, Dance Reflections by Van Cleef & Arpels is supporting choreographer Christian Rizzo, director of the ICI-CCN Montpellier - Occitanie for his creation miramar.

In the beginning, there could be the sea. Or rather, those who gaze thereon. Shore-bound strangers with faces distractedly turned to the horizon. Their thoughts - becoming embodied – directed towards an elusive off-camera object, consisting of the interweaving of its component movements. But how should this be shown, how should the invisible be danced?

Here, light, sound and dancers (1 + 10) converse in equal measure. Their trajectories, interruptions and movements sketch out three autonomous choreographies: three scores that constantly populate and redesign space. The mobility of lighting and variations in sound layers respond to diverse bodily states: projection, availability, expectation.

Whether an address, a welcoming capacity with desire woven in, and also flashes, and moments of suspension, bodies fall, rise or remain on the ground, others move away, come closer and advance together. The premises of fictional tales are sketched and held in suspension. From solo to group, from individual to community, the link to all things commonplace through gaps and differences. A memory, film image, visual music, moving perspectives.
