One evening in June 1948, Mrs. Brown and Mr. Flood, owners of a dancehall in the suburbs of Manchester, England, burst into the offices of the Society for Psychical Research in London. Both are convinced that their establishment is haunted. The story of this affair, drawn from actual archives, serves as the pretext for a few exercises in surprise.
