TORDRE
Rachid Ouramdane / Compagnie de Chaillot

In 2025, Dance Reflections by Van Cleef & Arpels is supporting Chaillot – Théâtre National de la Danse for the presentation of TORDRE by Rachid Ouramdane / Compagnie de Chaillot.
Created in 2014, TORDRE is an intimate, sensitive duet featuring two outstanding dancers: Annie Hanauer and Lora Juodkaite, faithful interpreters of the world of Rachid Ouramdane and the Compagnie de Chaillot. Through their gestures, stories and unique physical presences, the choreographer explores questions of identity, difference and personal expression. Annie Hanauer, an American dancer whose physical distinctiveness shapes a deeply personal dance, and Lora Juodkaite, known for her elongated, hypnotic spirals, embody two ways of tordre, or twisting, the conventions of dance, of embracing movement with power and fraity. The show oscillates between choreographic portrait, testimonial and performance, in an uncluttered staging that highlights the singularity of each body. TORDRE is in keeping with Rachid Ouramdane's approach to making underrepresented voices heard, celebrating atypical paths and questioning traditional representations of virtuosity. This is a highly poetic piece, where difference becomes a source of beauty and expressive power.
