In 2026, Dance Reflections by Van Cleef & Arpels™ is organizing, in collaboration with the China Shanghai International Arts Festival, the workshops Afrofusion taught by Lesego Dihemo for children and Sbusiso Gumedeas for adults, as part of the Festival in Shanghai.
The dancers from the internationally acclaimed South African dance company Moving into Dance Trust (MID) will be facilitating Afrofusion dance classes, a technique developed by MID’s founder and is Moving into Dance’s signature dance genre. This technique combines African dance, movement, rhythm, and music with contemporary dance. The movements are usually well-grounded and are based on the principle of embracing gravity and the undulations of the spine.
