In 2026, Dance Reflections by Van Cleef & Arpels™ is organizing, in collaboration with the China Shanghai International Arts Festival, the workshop Dance, Floorwork and Acrobatics with Clotaire
from Contre-Nature Rachid Ouramdane's show, as part of the Dance Reflections by Van Cleef & Arpels™ Festival in Shanghai.
A workshop for professional dancers and those entering the profession (+ 18 years old) with Clotaire Fouchereau, a dancer and acrobat with Compagnie de Chaillot who is performing in Contre-nature, a piece by Rachid Ouramdane / Compagnie de Chaillot.
Acro dance, or acrobatic dance, is a discipline that resists ready categorization. In constant evolution, it has as many forms as practitioners.
In this workshop, you will attempt to clarify, feel your way, and explore with Clotaire how dancers need to move within an acrobatic environment. How do they relate to the ground? How do they make it smoother, and render it either silent or noisy? You will try to understand how dancers extend the lines of their bodies and fill their environs, and how they grasp the whole of the space afforded to them.
