Hop(e)storm
With the Ballet national de Marseille
In 2027, Dance Reflections by Van Cleef & Arpels™ is organizing, in collaboration with the Sydney Festival, the workshop Hop(e)storm taught by Ballet national de Marseille dancers, as part of the Dance Reflections by Van Cleef & Arpels™ Festival in Sydney.
This workshop is intended for professional and semi-professional dancers.
Led by a dancer from Ballet national de Marseille - direction (LA)HORDE, the workshop offers an immersion into the world of Hop(e)storm, a creation by (LA)HORDE for Rambert Dance Company that brings together the energy of Lindy Hop and post-rave culture.
Drawing on the rhythms, musicality, bounce and collective energy of swing dance and Harlem-born Lindy Hop, participants will explore how this social dance echoes in contemporary choreographic practices, moving between freedom and the power
of the group.
