In 2027, Dance Reflections by Van Cleef & Arpels™ is organizing, in collaboration with the Sydney Festival, the workshop Il Cimento dell'armonia et dell' Invenzione: A Choreographic Tools Workshop taught by Ellada Damianou from the Rosas' dance company as part of the Dance Reflections by Van Cleef & Arpels™ Festival in Sydney
In this workshop, we dive into the structural and compositional foundations of Il Cimento dell’Armonia e dell’Inventione, the 2024 collaboration between Anne Teresa De Keersmaeker and Radouan Mriziga. Participants will explore the generative tools and movement strategies both choreographers used to build the piece's distinct language—focusing on rhythm, geometrical patterns, and image-based creation. By experimenting with these composition tools firsthand and creating their own choreographic material, participants will gain a deeper, more intimate appreciation and understanding of the work when watching it on stage.
