20th Biennale de la danse de Lyon
In 2023, Dance Reflections by Van Cleef & Arpels is supporting the Biennale de la danse de Lyon, to present five shows by Dimitris Papaioannou, Anne Teresa De Keersmaeker, Boris Charmatz, (LA)HORDE for the National Ballet of Marseille and Sidi Larbi Cherkaoui.
The 20th Biennale de la danse de Lyon is a Biennale of transition, created by two sets of hands. More than half of the program has been devised by Dominique Hervieu, who, before leaving, worked with many artists, mainly on shows that are co-produced by the Biennale. Since he came on board, Tiago Guedes has worked on completing the rest of the program, enriching it with other pieces for us to enjoy and new artistic projects guided by several other considerations and requirements : reestablishing the parity which had not been achieved in the show’s programming, making the Biennale a space for life, where people can celebrate, have a good time, meet new people and where different disciplines can intersect by transforming the Fagor factories into a fully-fledged Biennale hub, and multiplying and diversifying formats and experiences.
In all, some 51 theaters and partner locations will host the 2023 Biennale in the city and in the region.
