In 2025, Dance Reflections by Van Cleef & Arpels is supporting the Théâtre de la Ville for the presentation of The Land We Carry by Gregory Maqoma.

A dancer, choreographer and teacher born in Johannesburg in 1973, Gregory Maqoma began to dance in the late 1980s during a tense political climate in South Africa. In 1990, he joined Moving into Dance, where he became Associate Artistic Director in 2002. After attending the PARTS School in Belgium, founded by Anne Teresa De Keersmaeker, he created his own company in 1999, Vuyani Dance Theatre. As a performer and associate choreographer, Gregory Maqoma has collaborated with numerous choreographers, such as Akram Khan, Vincent Mantsoe, Faustin Linyekula, Dada Masilo, Shanell Winlock and Sidi Larbi Cherkaoui. His choreographies have received several awards, including the FNB Vita Choreographer of the Year in 1999, 2001 and 2002 for the pieces, Rhythm 1.2.3, Rhythm Blues and Southern Comfort
