Behind the Craft : Noé Soulier

The French dancer and choreographer Noé Soulier got a crash course in running a publicly funded dance institution. At the age of just 33, in 2020, he was appointed at the helm of Angers’ National Center for Contemporary Dance (CNDC), which includes a renowned school. This season, Paris’s Festival d’Automne looks back on his journey since his very first work, The Kingdom of the Shadows (2009), with a series of six revivals and creations, “6 x Noé Soulier.” For “Behind the Craft,” Soulier explains how he manages his repertoire and what directing a major dance center has taught him so far.
