Matthew Barney
In 2021, Dance Reflections by Van Cleef & Arpels is supporting Parades for FIAC, a performance program presented as part of the International Contemporary Art Fair in Paris.
Through the adaptation of the myth of Diana and Actaeon, this new feature film by Matthew Barney, shot in the snowy landscapes of the Sawtooth Mountains of Idaho, offers a fascinating meditation on the relationship of humanity to nature and to herself.
Matthew Barney (b. 1967) lives and works in New York and is known for his innovative and broad ranging practice encompassing film, performance, sculpture, photography and drawing. Celebrated for his feature-length cinematic work, including the seminal Cremaster Cycle (1994–2002), River of Fundament (2014) and Redo ubt (2019), the artist creates fantastical universes, which challenge the limits and politics of gender, sexuality and codified beliefs.
