Dance Reflections Fellowship 2026
The Watermill Center
In 2026, Dance Reflections by Van Cleef & Arpels is supporting The Watermill Center for the Dance Reflections Fellowship 2026, awarded to Trisha Brown Dance Company with Jeanine Durning.
Fellowships at The Watermill Center provide residences and project support for outstanding artists and groups within their chosen field of practice. The fellows and their work demonstrate the depth and breadth of Watermill’s commitment to new work, experimentation, and diversity of approach.
Jeanine Durning will work with Trisha Brown Dance Company at The Watermill Center to create a new piece in response to Trisha Brown's Glacial Decoy (1979), her first work to the proscenium stage and the beginning of her artistic partnership with Robert Rauschenberg.
Jeanine's answer is one of three in a series that includes some by Kyle Abraham and Miguel Gutierrez. Not a reconstruction, this initiative invites each artist to disrupt, augment, or continue the dialogue Brown initiated, re-contextualizing this pivotal work within the urgency and complexity of the present moment.
