Dear Lord, Make Me Beautiful

In Dear Lord, Make Me Beautiful, Kyle Abraham is inspired by Richard Powers' work The Overstory. The choreography is built around themes of life, transition, nature, ecology and empathy in an anxious contemporary society. The work will be performed by a group of more than 15 dancers, including Kyle Abraham himself, accompanied by a score commissioned from yMusic, a chamber music ensemble that blends classical and popular music. Cao Yuxi (JAMES), a new media artist, creates an evocative visual landscape with rich and colorful video projections that accompany the dancers' movements and yMusic's music.
