Jacob Jonas made his debut on the streets of Santa Monica, a seaside city near Los Angeles, where he learned on the fly and avoided conflict at home by spending time with hip-hop dancers. His unique energy was spotted by stars such as Britney Spears, Rosalía and Elton John. These collaborations gave him the means to choreograph his own pieces. In 2022, he learned that he had cancer, and chemotherapy confined him to a hospital. Drawing on his personal experience of resilience and recovery, he now turns his works into genuine expressions of the life force that drives him.
