In 2026, Dance Reflections by Van Cleef & Arpels is supporting the Tate Modern for the presentation of Trio A by Yvonne Rainer.

Marking the 60th anniversary of Yvonne Rainer’s landmark work Trio A (first performed 1966), Tate Modern will present a series of performances in the Turbine Hall. A defining work of post-modern dance, Trio A is built from a continuous sequence of everyday movements performed without repetition, theatricality or narrative, embodying Rainer’s radical rethinking of the dancing body.

On Friday 10 and Saturday 11 July 2026, the work will unfold as a durational performance from 14.00 to 21.00. It will be brought to life by a group of dancers led by Sara Wookey, one of eight certified transmitters of Rainer’s repertoire. This format invites visitors to encounter the choreography organically while emphasising the scale and openness of the Turbine Hall.

Complementing the live performances, the rare 1978 film of Rainer performing Trio A will be on display in Tate Modern’s Tanks Lobby. On Saturday 11 July from 3pm, Yvonne Rainer will also join an In Conversation with Catherine Wood to explore the legacy of this seminal choreography.
