Calico Mingling Repertory

In 2026, Dance Reflections by Van Cleef & Arpels is organizing, in collaboration with the Joyce Theater's New York Center for Creativity & Dance, the workshop Calico Mingling Repertory taught by Sharon Milanese and Caitlin Scranton (Lucinda Childs Dance Company) as part of its Dance Reflections by Van Cleef & Arpels Festival in New York.
Calico Mingling is a quartet comprised of intersecting walking patterns. Participants will use a paper score, or map, to follow an individual trajectory of lines and arcs that interact with the other dancers in space. A beautiful example of minimalist principles, Calico Mingling uses pedestrian vocabulary to weave intricate spatial relationships.
The workshop is taught by Sharon Milanese and Caitlin Scranton (Lucinda Childs Dance Company).
