This second edition of the Festival in New York provides an opportunity to reaffirm Dance Reflections’ commitment to the values of transmission and education. Workshops, which have enriched each previous edition, are at the core of this choreographic event.

For the first time, these workshops take place in a single venue: the New York Center for Creativity & Dance. Recently opened by one of Dance Reflections’ loyal partners, The Joyce Theater, this educational space temporarily becomes, on this occasion, the site of around 20 workshops over the course of several weeks.

Professionals, dance students, open level and youth are invited to a lively and immersive look into the world of contemporary dance. During these workshops, choreographers and performers become educators, relaying their artistic vocabulary—movements or techniques—and excerpts from their repertoires to participants.

Each of these educational moments aims both to foster exchanges between the dance community and the audience and to allow the latter to understand this universe through personal experience.
