The Essence of Gesture

In 2026, Dance Reflections by Van Cleef & Arpels is organizing, in collaboration with the Joyce Theater's New York Center for Creativity & Dance, the workshop The Essence of Gesture taught by Nacera Belaza as part of its Festival in New York.
Nacera Belaza will lead the participants into exploring the fundamental themes that define her choreographic work. This workshop offers the opportunity to immerse yourself in the unique creative process of Nacera Belaza, focusing on the dialogue between the inner self and the outer movement.
These sessions will investigate how the presence of the individual body can be actuated in a shared space. The participants will engage in introspection and collective thinking as a way to better understand one's own position in relation to others. They will investigate the concept of 'the infinite in the finite,' and will expand the boundaries of their physical presence.
More than a dance class, this workshop will be a journey into the invisible.
The workshop is taught by Nacera Belaza (choreographer).
