Soirée d'études
With Cassiel Gaube
In 2026, Dance Reflections by Van Cleef & Arpels™ is organizing, in collaboration with the China Shanghai International Arts Festival, the workshop Soirée d'études taught by Cassiel Gaube as part of the Dance Reflections by Van Cleef & Arpels™ Festival in Shanghai.
In this workshop, participants will first learn and practice some of the basic steps and grooves at the heart of various club dances, such as house dance. Then they will explore systematic ways to analyze and compose footwork, seeing how these can enrich our understanding their body's movements as dancers, and also expand their compositional imaginary as choreographers. Finally they will learn an excerpt of the piece Soirée d'études the work presented by Cassiel Gaube at the festival, to experience what this compositional approach can produce in practice.
