In 2024, Dance Reflections by Van Cleef & Arpels is supporting the 78th edition of the Festival d’Avignon for the presentation of Noé Soulier’s Close Up and Boris Charmatz’s Forever - Immersion dans Café Müller de Pina Bausch.
Founded in 1947 by Jean Vilar, the Festival d’Avignon is now one of the most important international events for contemporary performing arts. Every July, Avignon turns into a theater city, transforming its architectural heritage into numerous and varied, majestic and astonishing performance venues, welcoming tens of thousand of theater lovers of all generations. The festival succeeds in creating a unique bond betwen international creation and an enthusaiastic local audience. Avignon also has a spirit: the city is an open forum where festival-goers discuss performances and share their experiences as audience members. For a full month, everyone has access to vibrant, contemporary culture. The program consists of performances, as well as lectures, exhibitions, movies, and debates, all of which serve as entry points into the univers of the invited artists and intellectuals. Every night at the Festival, one or more premieres, take place, making Avignon a genuine vuenue of creation and advenure, for artists and audiences alike.
