Möbius Morphosis

Rachid Ouramdane, choreographer and director of Chaillot - Théâtre national de la Danse, along with the acrobats of Compagnie XY have envisioned a new show, Möbius Morphosis, for the Cultural Olympiad of the Paris 2024 Olympic and Paralympic Games.

Rachid Ouramdane and Compagnie XY present a new creation in the wake of Möbius, their first collaboration. On this occasion, they envisioned a spectacle in honor of the Olympic values: excellence, friendship, and respect. They bring together 35 acrobats from Compagnie XY, 26 dancers from the excellent Ballet de l’Opéra de Lyon, and students from the Maîtrise de Radio France led by Sofi Jeannin. Jean-Benoît Dunckel, co-founder of the iconic pop group AIR, composed the musical score for this extravaganza.

Möbius Morphosis is inspired by the phenomenon of flocking and schooling, – the self-organized grouping of birds of fish – inherent to nature. On stage, Compagnie XY, the Ballet de l’Opéra de Lyon the Maîtrise de Radio France, present a show combining choreography, music, singing, and acrobatics - the experience of seeing 70 artists filling the stage like a flock of starlings. This Chaillot – Théâtre national de la Danse production encourages new ways of perceiving, seeing what surrounds the dancing bodies and the bodies themselves.
