In 2026, Dance Reflections by Van Cleef & Arpels is supporting the presentation of Un Coin de Paradis by Josette Baïz with the young dancers of Groupe Grenade at the Théâtre de la Ville as part of Chaillot Nomade, Chaillot's off-site programming.

Created in 1997 by José Montalvo and Dominique Hervieu, Paradis is an iconic work in which styles intertwine: classical, contemporary, African dance, hip-hop and breakdance. In a universe teeming with life and infused with fantasy and humor, the piece plays with surprise and wonder, drawing inspiration from collage, the baroque and the unexpected. As its creators put it, “Paradis speaks to the child within each of us.” The piece was an instant success, both in France and abroad, cementing its status as a landmark of contemporary dance.

Nearly thirty years later, Josette Baïz has chosen to bring Paradis back to life in Un Coin de Paradis with the young dancers of Groupe Grenade. Balancing transmission and reinvention, the ten performers subtly pay tribute to the original cast—who appear on screen—as they celebrate this vibrant, Eden-like world with all the energy of today.
