In 2024, Dance Reflection by Van Cleef & Arpels continues to pursue its commitment to transmission and education and is organizing in collaboration with Kyoto Experiment and Saitama Arts Theater workshops around the work of Christian Rizzo as part of the Dance Reflection by Van Cleef & Arpels Festival in Japan.

The aim of this two-hour workshop led by Christian Rizzo is to stimulate, as a group, the principles of improvisation around the spatiality of shared dance. How can the perception of the surrounding space and the bodies of others form the beginning of a choreographic fiction? Alternating between being involved in and witnessing the dance, participants embrace both uniqueness and otherness in the same movement.

Oct. 13 - Kyoto Art Theater Shunjuza
Duration: 2 hours

During this workshop, participants will be guided by Fabien Almakiewicz (dancer of Christian Rizzo) to explore a multitude of their bodies’ dimensions through practical individual and group exercises. They will also work on improvisation based on excerpts from D’après une histoire vraie. This workshop is a space where dance becomes a language, a space to learn, a way to observe the world and to communicate.

Oct. 18 - Saitama Arts Theater
Duration: 4 hours
