In 2023, Dance Reflections by Van Cleef & Arpels renews its support to Gisèle Vienne by supporting L’Etang in New York and Paris, as well as her new creation EXTRA LIFE.

Gisèle Vienne is a Franco-Austrian artist, choreographer and director. After earning a degree in Philosophy, she studied at the puppeteering school École Supérieure Nationale des Arts de la Marionnette. She regularly works with writer Dennis Cooper, among other creative professionals.

Over the past 20 years, her work has been touring in Europe and is regularly performed in Asia and in America, among these are Kindertotenlieder (2007), Jerk (2008), This is how you will disappear (2010), The Ventriloquists Convention (2015) and Crowd (2017). In 2020, she partnered with Etienne Bideau-Rey to produce a fourth version of Showroomdummies, originally created in 2001, at the Rohm Theater Kyoto, as well as L’Étang (The Pond), based on Robert Walser's text Der Teich.

In addition to her choreographic activity, Gisèle Vienne regularly exhibits her photographs in contemporary art museums around the world. She has also published two books: Jerk / Through Their Tears in collaboration with Dennis Cooper, Peter Rehberg and Jonathan Capdevielle (2011), and 40 Portraits 2003-2008, in collaboration with Dennis Cooper and Pierre Dourthe (2012).
