Behind the Craft: Maud Le Pladec

Maud Le Pladec, the director of Orléans’ National Choreographic Center, first got to know France’s publicly funded dance institutions through her career as a performer. Since her first choreographic work, in 2010, she has worked to find a balance between creative research and outreach efforts in different areas of the country.
Her latest piece, Silent Legacy, will be performed at Paris’ Théâtre de Chaillot in March; ahead of the run, as part of CN D Magazine’s “Behind the Craft” series, she talks about what “public service” means to her as an artist, and how her work has changed since she took over in Orléans in 2017.
