Fampitaha, fampita, fampitàna, means comparison, transmission, and rivalry in Malagasy. On stage, four bodies choose and challenge one-other, and purge themselves of the layers of violence they are made of.
This is the second chapter of a diptych that begun with Rouge Cratère, her radio storytelling in which, choreographer Soa Ratsifandrihana seeks a common vocabulary between bodies and history to understand what units them and what sets them apart.
Soa is joined by guitarist Joël Rabesolo and performers Stanley Ollivier and Audrey Merilus to construct a new alternative existence where bodies emerge from their muteness by offering themselves the possibility of language.
Fampitaha, fampita, fampitàna presents itself as a line of dialogue between children of diasporas and their places of origin. A dual narrative where the explosion of these experiences resonates as much as their reappropriation. In front of us unfolds the history of bodies that have never escaped their islands, and shape, together, a parade against exile.
