Corps extrêmes by Rachid Ouramdane on tour

Rising and soaring, and even gliding. From time immemorial, the desire to “dance” in the air has inspired many imaginations. With Corps extrêmes, Rachid Ouramdane aims to “focus on the fascination of the idea of flying, states of weightlessness, and suspension”, all of which are possible sensations when one leaves the Earth. The choreographer has brought together acrobats, circus performers and athletes, some of whom he met while in production of Möbius by the company XY. “Through aerial choreography performed by these athletes and artists, the intention is to reveal these daring individuals attempting to reach the escape of gravity”. Corps extrêmes, accompanied by a captivating video installation, is an ode to dreaming.

In 2021, Dance Reflections by Van Cleef & Arpels is supporting choreographer Rachid Ouramdane, the new Director of the Chaillot - Théâtre national de la Danse, for his creation Corps extrêmes.
